“Homage to Bramante” C

Collection in homage to Bramante (Fermignano 1444 – Rome 1514), Italian architect and painter of the 15th century, one of the most important artists of the Renaissance period. For the pattern of the tie I freely took inspiration from a detail, depicting an horse, of the fresco Eraclito and Democrito. The fresco was  painted by Bramante between 1487 and 1488 during his stay in Milan and now it is  kept in the Pinacoteca di Brera. The fresco depicts the two Greek philosophers, Democrito smiling and Eraclito crying. Probably Democrito is a self-portrait of Bramante, while Eraclito is a portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci.
