Pliniana Bag

“Homage to Mantegna”

Collection in homage to Andrea Mantegna (1431-1506), important exponent of the Italian Renaissance. He painted the decorations of the Bridal Chamber, one of his most complex masterpieces, in Mantua at the service of the Gonzaga family. This collection is inspired by some of his most important works, that I have freely elaborated, such as the San Zeno Altarpiece, the Circumcision and the Bridal Chamber. The main theme that links these works of art and that led me to create this collection is Mantegna’s inclination toward the classical art and the archaeology, that we can see in the depiction of the Myth of Arion, of the winged putti and in the architectural elements.
