“Homage to Alfa Romeo”

Collection in homage to René Magritte (1898-1967), one of the most important Surrealist artists. In 1916 Magritte studyes at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, in 1923 he works as graphic in a wallpaper factory and then he starts to work as a freelance advertising designer creating posters for a Belgian couture house, for an Alfa Romeo retailer and designs  for sheet music covers. In this period he is influenced by the art movements of that time, Cubism and Futurism, and it is possible to notice that also in this advertising works. I inspired myself to this first period, unknown to the wider public, through some of his works, that I have freely elaborated.
