“Homage to Maggiolini”

Collection in homage to Giuseppe Maggiolini (1738-1814), the greatest cabinet-maker of the Italian Neoclassicism. He worked for Archduke Ferdinand of Austria, for Napoleon, for the majority of the European courts and for the most important Milanese families. I freely took inspiration from the details of his decorations on furniture, engraved at the beginning of the 19th century, depicting medusa’s heads, floral patterns, cornucopias and laurel wreaths, enclosed by different geometric shapes, such as ovals, triangles, octagons, hexagons, squares and circles.
